Series author Paul J. Smith also shows how to add detail elements like stairs and ceiling trim, and make models more realistic with materials. Plus, learn how to take advantage of the organizational features that make drafting in SketchUp so much easier?but that most designers never think to use.

Instructor’s Welcome Note:

Hello and welcome to Sketch Up For Architecture. A video series with explanations and tutorials, on how to get the best out of Sketcher, when using it for architectural projects. My name is Paul Smith. And I’ve been using Sketcher since it was released for precisely this purpose. Over time, I’ve developed techniques that I now share with several hundred architectural and engineering students every year at the UK University. In this course we’ll be developing a traditional UK domestic house design, from a sight and contextual study, through, to the creation of walls, floors, and roof.
We’ll also be delving into details by making a set of timber stairs. During these tutorials, I will be explaining our to rationalize your work flow, to think like sketch up, and to use some of the organizational tools that barely see the light of day, and they can really enhance your sketch up experience. So, let’s move on to the next video, and discuss what you should know before watching this course
