– Hi, I’m George Maestri, a staff author here at Lynda.com. Welcome to Getting Started with 3D and Animation. This course will give you an overview of the software and processes involved when working with 3D and animation software. We’ll start off with an overview of the software needed to work in 3D. After that, we’ll take a look at the workflows involved when creating images in 3D. We’ll begin with modeling, where we create 3D objects, then move on to the texturing process.
We’ll take a look at rigging characters to make them easy to animate. Then we’ll bring them to life through animation. Then we’ll check out rendering where we use lights and cameras to create final images. Finally, we’ll talk about visual effects and compositing. I find 3D to be a very rewarding way to create images. It combines a lot different skills, both creative and technical. So let’s begin with Getting Started with 3D and Animation.
