– In the construction industry, we deal with documents, a lot of documents. From plans and layouts to project specifications, requests for information, submittal documents, safety documents, subcontract documents, we just deal with a lot of documents. And it’s always been a struggle to manage all of these documents, both from a physical standpoint, as in, how do I carry all these full-size drawings around the job site, or transport them back and forth from my office to the project, and from a logistical standpoint, as in, which documents are current? And how can I archive these old documents in case I need them later? My name is Jim Rogers, and I’ve been in the construction industry for more years than I care to admit.
I’ve spent my entire career managing construction projects big and small, and I’ve spent many years teaching and coaching trades people and construction managers in topics ranging from general construction management, planning and scheduling, occupational safety and health, and many other various technical topics related to the construction industry. In this Up and Running With Bluebeam course, we’ll discuss how to get started using Bluebeam Review, including how to choose and install the version that’s right for you. I’ll review all of the different ways the program can be customized so that you can set it up to suit the way you work.
After that, I’ll demonstrate the different ways that this program can convert documents and files into PDF documents from virtually any other file format, including CAD and BIM drawings, and how it can be used to create PDFs from scratch.
