Bentley MicroStation is a highly optimized 2D and 3D CAD and information-modeling program used by architects and engineers around the world. This course will get you up and running quickly, so you can complete simple 2D drawing projects, edit graphics, reference title blocks, and generate a plot of the final results with MicroStation.
Jeanne Aarhus begins with a tour of the interface and an introduction to the “language” of MicroStation. She then shows how to manipulate geometry, use the alignment and selection tools, work with levels and cells, and annotate and print drawings. The course features both architectural and civil examples, so you’ll get a good understanding of MicroStation’s many applications: in architecture, engineering, construction, utility systems, roads and rail, communications networks, water and wastewater networks, process plants, mining, and more.

– Hi. I am Jeanne Aarhus. Let me welcome you to the “Up and Running with Bentley MicroStation.” MicroStation is one of the leading CAD software applications available today. This course will introduce you, the new user, to the MicroStation 2D environment and get you started using V8I the right way. The techniques learned in this course will work with any version of MicroStation. V8, XM, or V8I. There may be some variances in interface and tool locations. I will show you how to complete a simple, 2D drawing project from inception to completion, and I will demonstrate how to use MicroStation tools using the most efficient procedures and shortcuts.
Put your existing drafting skills to use in this new environment. We will create, modify, and annotate 2D graphics, generate a final production drawing, and plot it to PDF, resulting in a final construction document using MicroStation. With all that being said, I’m really excited to show you how easily you can become a productive MicroStation user.
