Instructor’s Welcome Note:

(upbeat music) – [Voiceover] Hi, I’m Ron Davis and I’m going to be your guide as we walk through this course, in which we’re going to build a dashboard using PowerPivot and Power View, two siblings that are add-ins to Excel and are terrific enhancements for using analytics and dashboards within Excel. We’re going to walk through this step-by-step and create the pivot tables and pivot charts that you see. We’ll also come in and enhance the data we bring in by adding calculated fields.
We’ll further enhance the data model by adding a calculated table in here, known as a link table. We’ll create this in Excel and then add it into the data model. We’ll look at Power View, which is a very exciting technology that allows you to easily come through and add different kinds of charts. So, let’s get started and we’re going to walk through this step-by-step.
