(fun instrumental music) – Hi, I?m Gabriel Corbett, and welcome to Steel Building Design with SolidWorks Weldments. In this course we?ll look at designing a welded and bolted steel building using the SolidWords Weldments package. The tools within SolidWorks make designing structures relatively easy and quick. To get started we?ll go over techniques to quickly define planes, and draw the floorplan and elevation sketches. We?ll then load standard materials and quickly fabricate a structure.
Next we?ll cover patterning the components and creating connections like bolt plates and foundations. We?ll work with the orientation of the materials by flipping, rotating, and mirroring of the shapes for the ideal fit, as well as trimming and extending of parts. We will then look at designing our own custom Weldment profiles and adding them into our building. I will teach you quick and easy ways at adding gussets, weld beads, bolt plates, and holes, then wrap it all up with assembly techniques and documentation on drawings, including Weldment cut lists, and so much more.
